Team BikeExchange-Jayco goes to Tour de Hongrie with a clear objective this week: victories with sprinter Dylan Groenewegen.
The Dutchman will line up on the start line in Csákvár for stage 1 on Wednesday having last raced at the start of April, and comes into the race with a solid block of training behind him.
Supporting Groenewegen for the sprints will be Luka Mezgec, Cameron Meyer and Amund Grondahl Jansen, with one of the team’s youngest riders – Alexandre Balmer – and one of its most experienced – Jack Bauer – also in the six-rider line-up.
Of the five stages, the team sees opportunities for a bunch sprint finish across the first four, before a test of the climbing legs to round off the five days on Sunday as the race finishes up with a 184km stage into Gyöngyös-Kékestető.
Team BikeExchange-Jayco line-up:

Dylan Groenewegen (NED)
Amund Grondahl Jansen (NOR)
Cameron Meyer (AUS)
Luka Mezgec (SLO)
“It’s been a few weeks now since I’ve raced. After many days of racing at the beginning of the season I had a small break, but then I trained hard to prepare for this next block of races which are coming up, starting with the Tour of Hungary.
We will have a few options in Hungary to try to win some stages, and this will be our goal. I feel good and we have a strong team for this race. I’m ready to race again, and to feel the adrenaline of the competition.”
Tristan Hoffman (Sports Director):
“We are going to Hungary all in with Dylan. The first four stages should all finish with sprints, so we will try our best to take the most out of them.
We have a strong team with great lead-out riders, such as Cameron and Luka, and we know it’s never easy but we enter the race with lot of confidence. Only the final day finishes with a climb, and we will see how Alex will feel and we might give it a go with him.
It should be an exciting week for us and we hope to keep the good vibe the team had in Hungary during the first stages of Giro d’Italia.”
