ANDRONI GIOCATTOLI SIDERMEC: GOOD BALANCE AT TURUL ROMANIEI AND IN FRANCE

Two victories and a lot of protagonism. This is how the Turul Romaniei (Uci 2.1) by Androni Giocattoli Sidermec can be summarized. The Romanian stage race ended yesterday in Bucharest with the fifth place of the intern Cristian Rocchetta in the sprint that decided the fraction. Rocchetta himself had already hit a top-10 in the fraction that followed the opening prologue.
The two wins for Androni Giocattoli Sidermec came with Janos Pelikan, the fastest in the prologue of the first day, and Daniel Munoz, the strongest in the first uphill finish of the second stage. With Munoz always in the midst of the most difficult stages (for the Colombian also a fourth place in the third stage), a good protagonist was also Eduardo Sepulveda who obtained a third and a fifth place of stage. Sepulveda and Munoz were the two best of Androni Giocattoli Sidermec in the final general classification where they finished in fourth place (with the same time as the third classified) and in fifth place respectively. Alessandro Bisolti, on the other hand, was just out of the top-10. For the team came the success in the team classification.
Good news in the week of double activity also arrived from France and from the three races (Uci 1.1) scheduled from Friday to Sunday. Tesfazion was good 4th place yesterday in Doubs just the conclusion of three intense races. With Mattia Basi, always ready to go on the breakaway, Luca Chirico showed an excellent condition, 6th in Besancon, 11th at the Jura and yesterday, when he was with the best in the final, blocked only by a crash.
Just the crashes have once again conditioned the team in part, which has been able to react in the best possible way. The comment of the team manager Gianni Savio fits precisely on this theme: «A test of character on the part of all the team members. We have been able to react to the adversities encountered in this unfortunate season. Various accidents have affected the performance of some riders, making them also unavailable. This is the case of Santiago Umba, who unfortunately has already closed the season due to the fractured arm suffered during the Tour de l’Avenir».
