La Route Adélie de Vitré: Dorian Godon 2nd

Dorian Godon : « I’ll take a victory soon »

« We came to win today. The team was united, everyone on the team responded ‘present’ and we tried to be aggressive by forcing the echelons. I made my move at the foot of the final climb, and I wasn’t missing much to win this final sprint. This podium is a positive step. My form is good, so it bodes well for the future and for taking a victory soon. »Dorian

Volta Ciclista a Catalunya (stage 5): Dorian Godon 3rd

Dorian Godon: “Working for Ben O’Connor has elevated us”

« It’s not a victory but I’m happy with the result. This is my second podium in the UCI WorldTour. The day was long but not very difficult. We were active at the start of the stage to get into the breakaway, but it was complicated with the headwind.
The last kilometers were winding so I wanted to join in the final sprint. I have no regrets; I couldn’t have done better.
My sensations are getting better day by day. Yesterday when we worked to defend Ben (O’Connor)’s leader’s jersey, we rode really well.
The last two stages suit me and I hope to do even better than today. Taking a win in the UCI WorldTour is my goal this year.
We will also do everything to ensure that Ben gets the best possible place in the general classification on Sunday evening.»Dorian

Tour du Doubs: Victory for Dorian Godon

Dorian Godon « A lot of great team work »

« It’s the kind of day where you feel like it’s easy since the team is doing such a tremendous job. I was taken care of and protected all day. Everything happened naturally; we didn’t have to say anything to each other. Nans Peters rode in front for 90 km, I was taken to the sprint, and I just had to finish the job. We deserved to share the wheel of Comté that I won. Three victories this season, and my first Tour de France. It’s been a great year and I want to build on the same momentum. I am going to take a few days off because I feel that some days are more difficult than others and I will prepare for the Grand Prix de Wallonie (September 15) where we will definitely have a good team together. »Dorian

“I am really happy with this top 10 after so many weeks without getting any convincing results. I feel like my form is picking up and that’s really good news. Already, on Saturday, I was not so bad. I just didn’t manage to hook up to the right group. Today, with my experience and my knowledge of the course, I knew I could pull off a good performance. I did well in my sprint. I can now build for the end of the season,” said Greg Van Avermaet.
