ANDRONI GIOCATTOLI SIDERMEC: FROM THE TOUR DE BRETAGNE WITH A VICTORY
Bad luck has once again taken place, but the last trip of the season to France at the Tour de Bretagne for Androni Giocattoli Sidermec will remain to be remembered anyway and above all for a victory, good placings and yet another proof of character of the team. Success brought Leonardo Marchiori with a good sprint in the fifth stage of the transalpine race which started last Monday and ended yesterday after seven fractions. Before, it was Marchiori himself who finished twice in the top-10 with a seventh and an eighth place. In sixth place, however, Nicola Venchiarutti had finished in the third stage, then forced, due to a crash, to retire. Same fate befell Mattia Viel. Finally, yesterday in an insidious stage Filippo Tagliani was good, just out of the top-10 (11°). The intern Rocchetta also starred in the French week, good at getting into some attacking action. On the French race (Uci 2.2), where Gian Paolo Cheula was leading the team, here is the comment of the team manager Gianni Savio: «Another success has arrived in France, after those in the summer of Santiago Umba and Jefferson Cepeda in the Tour d’Alsace and the Tour de Savoie. As in the case of Umba, another new professional, Leonardo Marchiori, who once again proves the validity of our youth project, established himself».
