Stan Dewulf: “A great day”
“I know that I have been feeling good for some time. I have been circling around a victory for a bit (5th Binche-Chimay-Binche, 4th in Paris-Tours). Today the circuit was difficult but we had a great collective race. When I went at 8 kilometers from the finish, I preferred to anticipate a possible sprint finish. I’m really happy to get this first victory while wearing the AG2R CITROËN TEAM jersey. We had a great weekend all together and since we have also ended the season with victories in the Coupe de France (general classification, young rider, team classification), we couldn’t ask for better. And for my part, winning the last race of the season allows me to start my break with a great motivation for next year.”Stan
Dorian Godon: “Feel very proud”
“When I turned professional (in 2017), I never imagined that I could win the general classification of the Coupe de France. When you see the riders on the winner’s list, it’s a real source of pride. I am very happy. After the Tour de France, I managed to stay motivated until the end of the season. Stan’s victory today is the best way to end this season. The Coupe de France races suit me, there is often a lot of aggressive racing and I like itlike that. The team victory is also a reward for the whole group. We are the best French team, and that’s no small feat.”[/su_quote]
Vincent Lavenu: “Always prestigious”
“Throughout the season, Dorian has scored points in the Coupe de France. He won two great races with Paris-Camembert and the Tour du Doubs. And finally, he got caught up in the game. He’s a rider who is still growing. It’s a great reward for him. This is just the start, he still has a bright future ahead of him! Regarding the victory in the Coupe de France for the team classification, this is a result that salutes the work of everyone throughout the season. It shows that our work has been efficient. French cycling has a strong organizational fabric and it is always prestigious to win these kinds of races.”[/su_quote]
The AG2R CITROËN TEAM won all three Coupe de France classifications: the general, best young rider with Dorian Godon and team classifications.
