ANDRONI GIOCATTOLI SIDERMEC: RESTREPO IS 7TH AT THE GIRO DEL VENETO
Thrilling race the Giro del Veneto today and Androni Giocattoli Sidermec (photo Bettiniphoto) great protagonist.
A more than good performance in the penultimate race of the year for the team that on the way from Cittadella to Padua (168,8 kilometers) had one more reason to do well in Massimo Levorato’s special good luck. The president and administrator of Work Service Group, the company based in Padua and one of the team’s most important partners, this morning, on a more than ever welcome visit, wanted to personally greet the riders before the start.
The race offered a Jhonatan Restrepo in great shape. The Colombian in the last ten kilometers, in fact, came out of the small group of best with the Belgian Meurisse and Trentin (the first two of the finishing order) having to yield only on the finish line. The great comeback of the group stopped Restrepo’s ambitions, who in the last meters had tried to stretch again: for him in the end a good seventh place (behind Dainese, third, Consonni, Covi and Albanese and in front of Pasqualon, Velasco and Orrico) which is still tight for the great test offered. As mentioned, all the Androni Giocattoli Sidermec who had four riders in the main group, were good: in addition to Restrepo, in fact, a good Luca Chirico closed just outside the ten and a little further back Mattia Bais and Simone Ravanelli, still interpreters of an another good proof of substance.
